For those who don't know, BarlowGirl is my all time favorite band. Their songs always inspire, and it seems I have a personal story behind there songs. I also love what they have to say at concerts. Here's a quote by these amazing ladies:
“You were made to shake up the world….don’t let someone else do it! Don’t let someone else dream the dream that God has for you. You go out, you go out and shake up this world, you go out and make history. I want this world to remember us as a generation that did not care what anyone else thought. I want this world to remember us as a generation that changed this world for forever.”
I love this quote because it always gets me thinking. It says everything I desire for my life: I want to shake up the world, to dream that dream God has for me. I want the world to remember me as that girl who didn't care what others think of her, that changed the world forever.

What drives me nuts is that I watch teens around me live their whole lives trying to fit in. Their world revolves around 5 minutes of fame. But is that all we're here for? To see who has the most expensive clothes, the hottest clothes, the cutest boyfriend/girlfriend, to see who has the most friends. But there's more to life to that. If you try to please everyone, to be the most popular kid in school, it doesn't seem like you're really living. You're just living a lie to make others like you. I want to live! I don't want to live an unlived life. I want people to look at me and see that I'm different, that I'm not like other girls. I dare to be different. Will you?

Every Christmas since I was 13 years old (correct me if I'm wrong, but Mary was a teenager when she the angel came to her announcing she was going to have a baby) I've tried to put myself into Mary's shoes, wondering what she was thinking and feeling as she carried the Light of the World, then as what she felt as she held Jesus, her son for the first time.

This Christmas I am wondering the same things. But today I started wondering what it was like after Jesus was born, when He was just a little boy. And like all little boys, Jesus needed a mommy. I've never been a mother before, but as a babysitter who is active in the lives of the children I do babysit, I know what's it like to take care of child, even if it's not on a daily basis. So today I was thinking of how Jesus needed someone to hold Him, love Him, and care for Him, like every child. And like every mother, Mary cared and loved Him. An ordinary girl taking care of an extraordinary boy.

A Poem on Beauty

You need to know
Change is good (really!)
And you are beautiful
And while beauty can mean something different to everyone,
One thing is for certain:
helping others can help you live your most rewarding life.
What does beauty mean to you?

Speak Up!

We all have the power to speak up-and out.
A voice can get a party started, shout down opponents, or lead a country.
So find your voice
Stand up!Stand tall.
Take a chance.
Dream big.
Set goals.
The true you always shines the brightest.

The Way I See It

The way I see it
We're all brocken
With a heart full of dreams
And a pocket full of rocks

The way I see it
God knows best
He gives us a new look on life
A new direction
A beautiful lesson
We are satsified by love

The way I see it
We are moving forward
Because of Him
Even when it rains

The way I see it
The Brightest Light
Is a beauty that last

The way I see it
A tap from God
Is a Father pouring out love and forgivness and love,
And we are changed forever.
The way I see it.

Poems I write

I don't usually write poems, and the ones I do are cheesy. But these two I really like enough to publish. So here they are:
Hey Girls! If you love to dance, get more dance more often.
Give the gift of dance. Dream big. Dream now.
Let your talent shine. Light up the stage.
Dance your dream. Dream big.
Dancing is where passion meets opportunity.
Take center stage.
The curtin ascends, the spotlight in view, passion in motion-the dancer is you.
A star is born.
And this one I actually wrote in speech class (it was an assighment!):
You're amazing!
Believing in yourself is strong.
Achieving what you never believed possible is success.
Dancing to your own drum. That's moving forward.
Smile, and your friends smile back.
Find beauty practically everwhere.
Don't overlook the good. Create something beautiful.
A tower of opportunity.
A whole new world.
My path to inspiration starts now.
The choice is yours. Your future is in your hands.
